In a disturbing incident in Mokama town of Patna district today, a woman was seriously injured in an acid attack at a local beauty parlour, prompting an immediate police response and the launch of a criminal investigation. The victim, identified as 25-year-old Priya Kumari, was reportedly attacked around mid-afternoon while receiving beauty services at the parlour on the main road.

Eyewitnesses said a man entered the premises, splashed a corrosive substance on Priya’s face and fled on foot, leaving other customers and staff in shock. The victim sustained severe burns to her face, neck and hands, and was rushed by accompanying friends to the Mokama Community Health Centre, from where she was later referred to Patna’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) for specialised treatment. Doctors treating her described her condition as serious but stable, and confirmed that immediate first-aid and fluid replacement were underway to manage the chemical burns.

While police have not yet announced any arrests, local law-enforcement officials assured that efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the perpetrator swiftly.
