A bomb threat at Terminal 3 of the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi on Wednesday afternoon has prompted an immediate security response, according to officials. At approximately 4 pm, the airport fire brigade received a call reporting a bomb threat. The alert led to deployment of specialized teams, including bomb-squad units, sniffer dogs and rapid screening of passengers and luggage in the terminal’s departure zone.

The threat appeared linked to an email sent to the grievance portal of the airline IndiGo, which mentioned multiple airports including locations in Delhi, Chennai and Goa. Investigators say the email prompted security checks on several flights and led to heightened watch across the aviation network. An aircraft of Air India Express destined for Varanasi was also reportedly flagged after the airline received a separate bomb-threat alert. The aircraft landed safely, and authorities cleared the threat after conducting comprehensive checks.

Airport authorities advised travellers to arrive early for screening, follow staff directions, and expect reinforced checks in the coming hours.
