Crime
The state police have launched a major anti-crime crackdown: today, authorities announced plans to confiscate properties of around 1,600 criminals — many linked to sand mafias, land-grab syndicates, and organised crime. The move comes as part of an enlarged strategy to cut down on illicit wealth accumulation and curb mafia-related influence. The police have prepared extensive documentation for each individual, which will be submitted for court approval. Alongside, a new anti-eve-teasing squad is planned to enhance women's safety, and 2,000 scooters are being procured to expand patrolling capacity, especially around schools and colleges. The law-and-order leadership stated zero-tolerance toward crime, and emphasised that the crackdown aims to restore lawfulness and public confidence across the state.
