Police have arrested Piyush Dhamnotiya, an MBA student, in connection with the murder of his 24-year-old girlfriend in Indore, a case that has drawn widespread attention due to disturbing details revealed during the investigation.
According to investigators, the woman went missing after attending a gathering with the accused. Messages were later sent from her phone stating she would not return home, and objectionable videos were circulated from the device. Her family filed a missing complaint, and two days later police broke open a locked rented house after residents reported a foul smell. The woman’s body was found inside with signs indicating strangulation.
CCTV footage allegedly showed the accused entering the residence with the victim and leaving alone later carrying a bag. Police claim he sexually assaulted her, tied her up and killed her following an argument. After the incident, he fled to Mumbai where he was tracked and arrested.
The accused is currently on police remand and further interrogation is underway.
