Police have recovered a pistol and several live cartridges from a madrasa in East Champaran district, leading to the detention of three individuals in connection with the case.

The recovery was made during a raid conducted on the basis of specific intelligence inputs. According to officials, the operation was carried out to verify information about possible illegal activities linked to the premises.

Following the raid, three persons associated with the madrasa were taken into custody and are currently being questioned. Police have also formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine the matter in detail and determine the source of the weapons.

The premises have been sealed, and forensic teams are analysing evidence collected from the site, including documents and electronic devices. Authorities are also reviewing CCTV footage and mobile data to establish whether there are links to a larger network.

Security has been tightened in the surrounding area as a precautionary measure. Officials stated that all possible angles are being investigated, including the

possibility of organised illegal activity.

The incident has raised concerns regarding the circulation of illegal arms and the need for vigilance in sensitive locations.
