Patna University today launched its Winter Lecture Series at the historic Patna University campus, aiming to foster research thinking and academic discourse among students and faculty. The series will feature weekly lectures by distinguished scholars from economics, political science, environmental studies and data science, culminating in collaborative workshops for postgraduate and doctoral researchers.
Vice-Chancellor Professor A. K. Sinha emphasised that the initiative seeks to reconnect early-career scholars with global research trends, interdisciplinary perspectives and methodological rigour. Sessions will include discussions on climate resilience, digital governance, regional economic development, and sociology of education, with interactive Q&A formats.
The lecture series was inaugurated with a talk on “Technological Disruption in Public Policy,” where speakers highlighted case studies from India’s digital transformation efforts. Organisers stated that the programme will be livestreamed to accommodate wider participation beyond campus.
Students welcomed the series as a valuable opportunity to engage directly with experts and expand academic exposure beyond regular coursework. Faculty representatives said that the initiative aligns with the university’s drive to elevate research output and scholarly collaborations regionally and internationally.
