Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced today a major push to transform Bihar into the technology hub of eastern India. The plan aims to attract IT companies, foster start-ups and create a robust digital-infrastructure ecosystem. The initiative includes setting up special economic zones, boosting broadband connectivity, and enhancing skill development programs to train local youth for tech jobs. Kumar said improved infrastructure and investor-friendly policies will help stop brain drain and generate employment locally. State ministers have been asked to coordinate with central agencies and private partners to ensure swift rollout. Observers view this move as a bold attempt to shift Bihar’s economic narrative from agriculture to tech-driven growth.
