Samrat Approves ₹30 Crore Police Infrastructure Projects Across Bihar

Bihar is planning to introduce a futuristic Ultra Pod smart mobility system in Patna as part of efforts to modernise urban transport and improve connectivity between key government buildings. The project is expected to transform mobility around the administrative zone of the city with a driverless capsule-style transport network. The proposed project is estimated to cost around ₹296 crore and will operate along a 5-kilometre elevated track connecting major locations such as Visvesvaraya Bhavan, Vikas Bhavan, the Bihar Legislative Assembly and the Old Secretariat complex. The Ultra Pod system will use Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) technology, where small automated vehicles run on a dedicated track without drivers. Each pod is expected to carry up to six passengers, and around 59 pods may operate on the corridor. Pods will be available frequently, allowing quick travel between offices without unnecessary stops. In the first phase, nine stations are proposed along the route along with a control room and parking facilities. Authorities say the project aims to reduce traffic congestion around government offices and promote eco-friendly urban mobility. The Bihar government has announced a large-scale recruitment drive for 20,000 posts of Anganwadi Sevika and Sahayika across the state, aiming to strengthen services under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme. Officials said the recruitment process is expected to begin in April 2026. According to the Social Welfare Department, the vacancies will be filled in different districts where posts have remained vacant for a long time. The appointments are intended to improve delivery of nutrition, early childhood education and healthcare services provided through Anganwadi centres. Authorities stated that district administrations will soon issue detailed notifications outlining eligibility criteria, application procedures and selection guidelines. The recruitment will primarily prioritise local women candidates as per government norms.
