Patna, August 24, 2026: The flood situation in several parts of Bihar has become increasingly serious as the water level of the Ganga continues to rise.
According to reports, eight districts are facing flood-like conditions. In Bhagalpur, a river embankment has reportedly been breached, while a section of the zamindari embankment in Begusarai's Bachhwara area was washed away.
In Munger, residents of Jafarnagar village have reportedly started moving to safer locations as floodwaters enter low-lying areas.
Authorities have stepped up preparedness and relief measures as the situation continues to develop. Residents in vulnerable areas are being advised to remain alert and follow instructions from local administration.
The rising water level has once again highlighted the vulnerability of several districts along the Ganga during the monsoon season.
