As the New Year approaches, thousands of devotees and nature lovers visited Mundeshwari Dham in Kaimur district of Bihar today to offer prayers and seek blessings for 2026. The ancient temple, dedicated to Goddess Mundeshwari, is one of India’s oldest places of worship and is nestled amid scenic hills and forests, making it a unique spiritual and natural destination.
Pilgrims began their journey early in the morning, performing traditional rituals and offering flowers, incense and sweets at the sanctum. Many families, couples and youth participated in the special aarti and bhajan sessions held throughout the day. Religious observers noted that the temple’s serene environment, coupled with clear skies and mild winter weather, enhanced the spiritual experience for visitors.
Local authorities reported that arrangements for crowd management, drinking water, health camps and sanitation were put in place to ensure smooth conduct of the festivities. Volunteers from community groups also helped devotees navigate pathways and manage parking areas near the temple complex, which is situated atop the Shivlinga-shaped hill.
In addition to spiritual observance, many visitors used the day to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty, capturing views of lush valleys and scenic landscapes that the Kaimur region is known for. Eco-tourists and photographers were seen exploring walking trails and photographing early morning mist over the hills.
