All five aerobridges at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport (JPNI Airport) in Patna are now fully operational, significantly improving passenger boarding and overall travel experience at the facility. The final two aerobridges were commissioned on January 31, 2026, completing the rollout at the new integrated terminal building that opened last year.
The completion of all five bridges means passengers can now board and deboard aircraft directly from the terminal rather than being transported by buses on the tarmac. Airport officials highlighted that this enhancement will help manage crowds more efficiently and reduce boarding time, particularly during peak travel hours and adverse weather conditions.
The new terminal, which was inaugurated in May 2025 and became fully operational in June 2025, has been undergoing phased infrastructure upgrades. The first aerobridge was in use upon inauguration, followed by the second later in 2025 and the third earlier in January this year.
