anic broke out in Dehri village under Punpun block of Patna district on Tuesday after an injured horse went on a rampage, attacking several people and leaving many injured. The incident occurred during the day when the horse, reportedly suffering from injuries, suddenly became aggressive and started running through residential lanes, charging at villagers.

Eyewitnesses said the horse appeared to be in severe distress, possibly after sustaining injuries in a road accident. As it ran uncontrollably through the area, several residents were knocked down or injured while trying to escape. Some people sustained head, hand and leg injuries, while others suffered bruises and cuts. Injured villagers were rushed to nearby health centres for treatment.

Local residents immediately informed the police and animal control authorities. Teams reached the spot and, after considerable effort, managed to restrain the horse. Veterinary officials were also called to examine the animal, which was later taken for medical treatment.

Police officials said the situation was brought under control and there was no further threat to residents. They added that none of the injured villagers were in critical condition. An inquiry has been initiated to determine how the horse sustained injuries and why it was roaming freely in a populated area.

Residents demanded stricter monitoring of stray and injured animals to prevent similar incidents in the future. Authorities assured that animal control teams will be more vigilant in rural and semi-urban pockets.
