Patna Police intensified night patrolling across the city on Monday to curb thefts and street crime during winter nights. Senior officials reviewed security arrangements and directed police teams to maintain visibility in residential areas, marketplaces and traffic junctions. The move comes as winter conditions often see a rise in opportunistic crimes.
Additional vehicle checks were conducted at key entry and exit points of the city. Police officials stated that patrolling teams have been instructed to respond swiftly to distress calls and suspicious activities. CCTV monitoring has also been strengthened in sensitive zones.
Residents welcomed the increased police presence, saying it has enhanced the sense of security, especially during late evening hours. Police authorities appealed to citizens to remain alert and report any unusual activity. They emphasised that community cooperation is essential in maintaining law and order.
The intensified patrolling drive is expected to continue throughout the winter season. Officials reiterated that strict action will be taken against offenders and urged people to avoid unnecessary late-night travel unless essential.
