All government and private schools in Patna district have fully reopened for students after days of weather-related closures, the district administration announced today. Educational activities for all classes are now being conducted normally, with the reopening effective from 17 January 2026, following a period of intense cold and dense fog that had forced earlier staggered resumption of classes.
The district magistrate issued an order restoring regular academic operations for students of all grades, including pre-primary, primary and higher-secondary levels. To safeguard the health of children amid lingering cold conditions, the administration has mandated that no classes begin before 9 AM. This adjusted timing is designed to ensure that students avoid travel during the coldest and foggiest hours of the day. The new schedule is currently in place through 20 January, and authorities have said it may be reviewed if weather conditions improve further.
