The Patna administration has unveiled plans to transform the Digha riverfront along the Ganga into a vibrant cultural and tourism hub, aiming to enhance facilities, boost spiritual activities and attract visitors from across the region. Authorities said the initiative will support organised cultural programmes and improve infrastructure for tourists and residents alike.
Under the development strategy, the Ganga riverbank from Digha Ghat is being prepared to host regular Ganga Aarti ceremonies, reflecting similar rituals performed in other major river cities. The new setup is expected to enrich the spiritual experience for devotees and add a significant attraction for cultural tourism.
In addition to religious ceremonies, officials are developing recreational areas, landscaped parks and improved walkways along the riverfront. These upgrades are intended to make the area more accessible and enjoyable for families, domestic tourists and cultural visitors. Plans discussed by state leaders include enhanced seating areas, lighting, and spaces for social gatherings that highlight the river’s role as a community focal point.
