In an innovative move to boost voter participation, cinema halls across Patna district have announced a 50% discount on movie tickets for individuals who cast their vote in the upcoming elections on November 6. The offer will remain valid for two days — November 6 and 7  and is open to anyone who presents their ink-marked finger as proof of voting.

The initiative is part of a broader voter awareness campaign launched by the local administration to encourage citizens to exercise their democratic right. Authorities believe that such engaging incentives can help increase turnout, especially among the youth and first-time voters, who often show lower participation rates.

According to officials, several popular cinema halls in Patna have already confirmed their participation in the campaign. Ticket counters will verify the ink mark before applying the discount. The offer is applicable to both single-screen theaters and multiplexes, ensuring maximum reach across the district.

District Election Officer and Patna DM said that creative measures like these not only reward civic responsibility but also add an element of excitement to the voting process. “We want people to feel that voting is not just a duty but also something to celebrate,” the official added.

With polling day approaching, the Patna administration hopes that such citizen-friendly initiatives will inspire more people to step out, vote, and then treat themselves to a well-deserved movie at half the price.
