Bihar health authorities issued a precautionary advisory today following a noticeable rise in seasonal flu and respiratory infection cases across several districts. Government hospitals and primary health centres have been instructed to ensure adequate availability of medicines, staff and emergency facilities. Officials said the increase is linked to falling temperatures and poor air circulation during winter.
Citizens have been advised to maintain hygiene, avoid crowded places during peak hours and seek early medical consultation if symptoms such as fever, cough or breathing difficulty persist. Health officials emphasised the importance of wearing warm clothing and maintaining proper nutrition.
Special attention is being given to vulnerable groups, including children, elderly individuals and those with chronic illnesses. District health officers have been asked to monitor case trends and submit daily reports.
Public awareness campaigns are also being planned to educate communities on preventive measures. Authorities clarified that there is no cause for panic but urged caution and timely care. The health department stated that continued monitoring will help prevent escalation and ensure preparedness throughout the winter season.
