In the 2025 Bihar Assembly election race from the Chhapra (Vidhan Sabha) constituency, the RJD’s candidate Khesari Lal Yadav is trailing behind the BJP’s candidate Chhoti Kumari by approximately 7,739 votes after 13 of the 28 counting rounds.
Initially, Yadav held a slender lead in the early rounds of counting. However, as returns poured in, his lead evaporated and the BJP contender surged ahead. Yadav was visibly emotional during the counting process, and ultimately stepped out of the counting centre before the final result was declared.
Addressing supporters and the public amid the unfolding results, he said: “People are very good, people never are bad… I will always stay among the people. When it is time I will speak. I believe in God, in no one else.” His remarks have begun circulating widely on social media and are being seen as a reflection of the emotions invoked by this electoral setback.
While the final results are pending, this development marks a challenging moment for Yadav’s political ambitions in Chhapra and indicates potential shifts
