Two major campaign events in Bihar turned chaotic as massive crowds spiraled out of control during election rallies. The first incident took place in Katihar’s Kadwa constituency where Bhojpuri actor-turned-politician Dinesh Lal Yadav, popularly known as Nirahua, was addressing a public meeting. The crowd swelled beyond capacity, breaking barricades and toppling chairs. Police were forced to resort to a mild lathi-charge to bring the situation under control. The disturbance grew so intense that the rally had to be concluded within minutes of its start.
The second incident occurred in Bettiah, where Bhojpuri star and campaigner Pawan Singh’s public meeting saw a massive turnout that quickly led to disorder. More than 200 chairs were broken and a minor stampede ensued as people pushed forward to catch a glimpse of the singer-politician. One person reportedly suffered a leg fracture and was taken to a nearby hospital after receiving first aid at the venue.
Both incidents highlight growing concerns over crowd management and safety during high-energy election rallies in Bihar. The scale of public attendance, combined with limited security arrangements, has tested administrative preparedness. Officials in both districts have submitted detailed reports and are considering stronger safety measures for upcoming events. Authorities are expected to review rally permissions, reinforce barricading, and ensure medical support and evacuation routes are in place. The twin episodes have renewed focus on responsible event planning and the urgent need for stricter crowd-control mechanisms during the peak campaign season.
