A major rift has erupted within the family of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav after his daughter Rohini Acharya accused her brother Tejashwi Yadav and his associates of mistreating her following her kidney donation to their father. Rohini alleged that she was insulted, humiliated and falsely accused of taking huge sums of money and demanding a Lok Sabha ticket. Her public outburst triggered a chain reaction inside the family.
Soon after her statement, three more daughters of Lalu Prasad left the Patna residence along with their children. The three sisters were seen heading to the airport, choosing not to speak to the media. Their sudden departure intensified speculation about deepening divisions within the influential political family.
Tej Pratap Yadav publicly supported Rohini, criticising Tejashwi’s close circle and alleging that those around him were misleading the family. He appealed to his father to intervene and restore unity.
The controversy comes days after the RJD suffered a major electoral setback, raising questions about the impact of internal tensions on the party’s morale and leadership structure.
