Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a road-show in Patna without the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. The vehicle carrying the Prime Minister was adorned with flowers, and as it passed through the city, people in balconies offered aarti in his honour.
Arriving in the capital after addressing election gatherings in Ara and Nawada, Modi began his Patna procession from the memorial of poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. He laid a floral tribute at the statue, and was joined by central minister and MP Lalan Singh along with other senior party leaders.
Thousands of supporters gathered along the route — Nala Road, Thakur Badi, Bari Path and Bakarganj to catch a glimpse of the Prime Minister. Many spectators held up party flags and large cut-outs, while cheering slogans such as “Modi Zindabad” and “Jai Shri Ram”. The security cordons were tight and the roadsides packed.
By organising the road-show without Nitish Kumar’s visible participation, the message sent was one of the national leadership taking centre-stage in the run-up to the forthcoming Bihar elections. The vibrant visual spectacle of flower showers, aarti from balconies, large crowds underlined the campaign intensity in the state.
