The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) secured a resounding victory in the Patna University Student Union elections 2026, defeating rival student groups and capturing key posts across the campus, according to poll results announced on Monday, 2 March 2026.
NSUI candidates won the top positions including President, Vice-President, Secretary and Joint Secretary, with a significant margin of votes. Students who participated in voting expressed enthusiasm over record turnout, with many describing the mood as energetic and competitive. The newly elected union leaders pledged to focus on student welfare, infrastructure improvements and academic support services during their tenure.
In reaction to the NSUI’s victory, members of other student organisations congratulated the winners and said they would work constructively from opposition benches in campus forums. According to observers, issues such as exam reforms, hostel facilities, student safety and engagement in cultural activities influenced voters this year.
University authorities maintained that the elections were held smoothly under strict adherence to regulations, with officials ensuring transparency and security at polling stations across departments. The student union leadership is expected to take office later this week.
