The bungalow, located in a secure government enclave, has been earmarked for handover to the state’s General Administration Department (GAD) after necessary clearances and formalities are completed.
Officials today inspected the premises to initiate inventory, security audit and document reconciliation ahead of the scheduled handover. Furniture, fixtures, official files and equipment that belong to the state government are being catalogued, while personal items are being segregated for removal by the former chief minister’s family, who has resided there for several years. Government support staff have been instructed to coordinate with Rabri Devi’s representatives to ensure an orderly and respectful transition.
The move is part of standard procedure whenever there is a change in office, and administrative sources emphasised that the process will be completed smoothly without causing inconvenience to any party. Security arrangements remain in place, and there are no plans to disrupt daily routines of neighbouring residents during the vacating process.
Local political observers noted that attention on the former chief minister’s residence highlights broader post-election adjustments across Bihar’s governance structures. The handover is expected to conclude within the next few days, after which the bungalow may be reassigned to another official or repurposed as per government requirements.
