In the run-up to the upcoming 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly election (to be held 6 & 11 November), the Election Commission of India has declared a strict “zero tolerance” policy toward any violence in the state’s polling processes. Speaking from Kanpur, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar emphasised that all voters in Bihar will be able to cast their vote freely, peacefully and transparently.
