The Bihar Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for several regions of the state, forecasting a dynamic shift in conditions over the next 24–72 hours. Residents are advised to prepare for rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, along with dense fog in early mornings and nights in many districts, including Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur and Ara.
According to the advisory, intermittent rainfall and thunderstorm activity is expected to accompany a western disturbance influencing the region, making conditions unsettled. This change could lead to temporary reduction in temperatures, sudden gusty winds and localized waterlogging in low-lying areas soon after heavy showers. Meteorologists say that while the rainfall may provide relief from the lingering cold wave conditions, the combination of rain and fog could significantly reduce visibility on roads, rail tracks and airports during early morning and late night travel.
A dense fog advisory remains in place for early hours, especially in northern and central Bihar, making travel challenging for commuters. Transport authorities have been urged to exercise caution and consider speed
