The Government of India said it is closely monitoring the evolving security situation in West Asia as tensions in the region continue to affect global markets and regional stability. Officials held an inter-ministerial briefing to review developments and assess possible implications for India’s energy supply, trade routes and the safety of Indian nationals abroad.

Authorities said diplomatic missions in the region have been instructed to remain in contact with Indian citizens and provide assistance where necessary. The government is also coordinating with relevant ministries and international partners to track developments affecting shipping routes and commercial activity.

Officials emphasised that contingency measures are in place to respond to any sudden changes that could impact energy imports, maritime trade or the movement of Indian nationals in the region.
