n a push to promote heritage tourism, the Bihar state government today unveiled a fleet of ultra-luxury caravans — essentially mobile five-star suites — that will offer comfortable, flexible travel across historical destinations such as Nalanda, Rajgir, Bodh Gaya, and Vaishali. Each caravan is fully furnished with modern amenities: air-conditioned interiors, sleeper berths, a mini-kitchen, private bathroom, high-speed Wi-Fi and more. Tourists can hire these caravans as part of curated packages or via private booking; the rental is priced per kilometre with a minimum distance requirement. The initiative is designed to draw both domestic and international travellers, offering a novel way to explore Bihar’s rich cultural and religious heritage without reliance on traditional hotel stays. Officials hope this will increase tourist footfall, extend stays, and boost local economies around heritage sites.
