Bihar is witnessing a sharp rise in temperatures, with several districts expected to cross the 40°C mark, signaling the early onset of intense summer conditions across the state.
Meteorological trends indicate that temperatures have already been climbing steadily, with many regions experiencing above-normal heat levels. Experts have warned that this year’s summer could arrive earlier and be more severe than usual, with prolonged periods of high temperature likely.
However, a shift in weather conditions is expected after April 5. The India Meteorological Department has indicated the possibility of thunderstorms, rainfall, lightning and gusty winds, triggered by changing atmospheric systems and western disturbances.
Weather experts said such fluctuations—extreme heat followed by sudden storms—are becoming increasingly common due to changing climate patterns. Rising temperatures are also expected to increase electricity demand and water stress, particularly in urban areas like Patna.
Authorities have advised residents to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and remain cautious during sudden weather changes.
The forecast highlights a growing pattern of unstable and extreme weather in Bihar, raising concerns for both public health and agriculture.
