Amid flood conditions in 14 districts of Bihar, the state government is working with full preparedness to carry out relief and rescue operations. Around 43.64 lakh people have been affected by the floods. So far, two meals a day are being provided to 33.88 lakh flood-affected people.
For this purpose, 951 community kitchens are being operated across the state. In addition, 6,692 quintals of cattle fodder have been distributed in the affected areas.
NDRF and SDRF Take Charge
According to the Disaster Management Department, 27 teams of the SDRF and 10 teams of the NDRF have been deployed across various districts to deal with the disaster.
Districts Affected by the Floods
Floods have affected approximately 43.64 lakh people across 85 blocks and 527 gram panchayats in 14 districts of the state: Patna, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Buxar, Samastipur, Munger, Katihar, Lakhisarai, Khagaria, Purnia, and Arwal.
These Rivers Are Flowing Above the Danger Mark
Major rivers such as the Gandak, Kosi, Ganga, Punpun, Bagmati, and Ghaghara are flowing above the danger mark at several locations. However, the water discharge of the Gandak and Kosi rivers is currently stable.
