In response to concerns over LPG availability, the Bihar government is accelerating plans to expand piped natural gas (PNG) connections across urban areas.

Officials said the initiative aims to provide a more stable and continuous supply of cooking fuel to households. A long-term plan is being developed to extend pipeline infrastructure and reduce dependence on cylinder-based distribution.

Authorities believe the move will help address supply disruptions and improve convenience for consumers. The expansion is expected to be implemented in phases across major cities, including Patna.

The decision reflects efforts to modernise urban energy infrastructure and ensure reliable access to essential resources.
