The government of Bihar today announced an ambitious commitment: to provide employment or government jobs to 1 crore youth between 2025 and 2030. The announcement was made by Nitish Kumar, Chief Minister of Bihar, during a high-level administrative review.

All departments under the state government have been directed to submit data on current vacancies by 31 December 2025 to the General Administration Department. Based on these requisitions, recruitment processes will be fast-tracked. Additionally, all selection agencies and commissions have been instructed to publish a comprehensive recruitment calendar for 2026 by January, including advertisement dates, exam timelines, and result deadlines — ensuring transparency and timely completion.

The government also emphasised that online Computer Based Tests (CBTs) will see expansion, with additional centres to handle increased volume. Officials said the drive seeks to reduce youth unemployment, curb migration, and offer stable government employment across railways, education, health, administration, and other sectors.

The announcement has triggered a wave of optimism among Bihar’s youth population who see it as an opportunity for stable livelihoods and long-term security.
