The Bihar government today unveiled a ₹1 crore luxury caravan bus featuring an aircraft-like cabin experience, part of efforts to upgrade state-level transport services and cater to passengers seeking premium travel comfort. The specially designed bus was showcased at an event in Patna attended by senior officials and transport department representatives, who highlighted its modern features and comfort-oriented facilities.

The luxury caravan bus is equipped with reclining seats resembling airline seating, advanced infotainment systems, ambient lighting, and enhanced safety features aimed at providing a relaxed and enjoyable travel experience. Officials said the cabin layout, ergonomic seating and onboard amenities are intended to appeal to tourists, business travellers and long-distance commuters who value comfort on extended journeys.

In addition to comfortable seating, the bus includes Wi-Fi connectivity, individual charging ports, temperature-controlled air conditioning and superior sound insulation, making it suitable for inter-city travel across Bihar and neighbouring states. The vehicle’s design emphasises both comfort and safety, with features such as anti-lock braking systems, advanced suspension and GPS tracking for enhanced operational monitoring.

State transport authorities said the launch aligns with wider plans to modernise the public and charter bus fleet, reduce travel fatigue and elevate service standards. The luxury caravan bus is expected to be deployed first on high-density routes connecting major urban centres before expanding to other destinations.

Officials emphasised that the initiative seeks to boost tourism, encourage private-public partnerships in transport infrastructure and provide citizens with a compelling alternative to traditional long-distance travel options. Local travellers expressed excitement about the new offering, noting

that comfortable travel at affordable price points could transform road journeys.

The launch also included announcements of future plans to introduce similar premium buses, including options tailored for senior citizens, corporate travel and special event services. Transport authorities said they will monitor passenger feedback to refine service offerings and operational scheduling.
