The Bihar government today conducted a detailed review of seven key resolutions under the “Saat Nischay-3” programme aimed at transforming the dairy and fisheries sectors across the state. Officials said the initiative is designed to strengthen rural livelihoods, boost production, improve market access and enhance income opportunities for farmers and fishers.
The resolutions reviewed include plans to expand milk and fish production, strengthen cooperative models, modernise processing facilities, improve cold-chain infrastructure and increase value addition through branding and marketing initiatives. The session focused on progress made so far, obstacles encountered and strategies to ensure that targets are met within the scheduled timeframe of the Saat Nischay-3 plan.
Dairy development officers and fisheries department representatives presented progress reports from districts, highlighting improvements in breeder stock quality, fish seed production, formation of producer groups and adoption of scientific farming practices. Officials said that several interventions, including training programmes, credit facilitation and market linkage support, have begun yielding results in pilot areas.
State agriculture and animal husbandry officials stressed that enhanced focus on these sectors aligns with Bihar’s broader goals of rural prosperity and employment generation. They also discussed efforts to integrate technology in disease surveillance, feed management and productivity monitoring. Strengthening farmer cooperatives and facilitating partnerships with private sector players were highlighted as priority actions to scale up operations sustainably.

The review meeting concluded with directives to district teams to submit updated action plans and resource requirements, ensuring that progress remains on schedule. The government reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening both sectors as part of its comprehensive rural development strategy.
