Authorities in Noida and Ahmedabad responded to bomb threat emails sent to multiple schools today, triggering precautionary evacuations, security sweeps and alerts across education zones just days before Republic Day celebrations. The anonymous threat messages were received in the morning, prompting local police and bomb-squad units to quickly escort students and staff to safety and launch detailed inspections of school premises.
In both cities, parents and school administrators cooperated with law enforcement, ensuring that buildings were cleared and that no one remained inside during the sweeps. Sniffer dogs, metal-detector units and technical surveillance devices were deployed to check classrooms, common areas, playgrounds and surrounding grounds for any suspicious items or devices. Officers said that routine threat protocols were activated to minimise risk while maintaining calm among students, teachers and families.
Initial inspections in all schools returned no explosive materials or hazardous objects, and authorities described the threats as unverified. Police said they are analysing the emails, tracing their source through digital forensics and monitoring whether similar communications are being sent to other institutions. They also urged schools to remain vigilant and immediately report any unusual messages.
District officials said that parents should avoid panic, and that security measures have been stepped up in and around educational institutions ahead of major public events, including Republic Day functions. Police emphasised that students were safe and that normal academic activities will resume once clearances are completed.
