A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal has moved westward at a speed of 12 kmph over the past six hours. At 5:30 am on Wednesday, it was located in the sea about 70 km from Kalingapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the system is likely to cross the coast near Kalingapatnam between the coast of north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha by the night of September 23.

In Madhya Pradesh, a heavy rainfall alert has been issued for Chhindwara, Seoni and Balaghat today. Meanwhile, a rain warning has been issued across Bihar, with a yellow alert for rainfall in all 38 districts of the state.
In Rajasthan, temperatures have risen after the rains subsided. Jaisalmer recorded temperatures of around 41°C, while temperatures in Bikaner and Barmer crossed 40°C. Despite it being September, people are experiencing heat similar to that of May.
According to the weather department, dry conditions are likely to prevail across Rajasthan for the next four to five days, with temperatures expected to rise further.
