Indian Railways is set to introduce five new Amrit Bharat Express trains, a move that will significantly enhance rail connectivity through Bihar, officials said. The upcoming services will pass through key stations in the state, strengthening links between Bihar and major cities across northern, western and eastern India.

Railway authorities stated that Bihar will emerge as a crucial transit and connectivity hub under the new rollout, benefiting thousands of daily passengers who rely on long-distance trains for education, employment and trade. The Amrit Bharat Express trains are designed as affordable long-haul services with modern coaches, improved seating, charging points, better lighting and upgraded safety features, offering a more comfortable travel experience.

Officials noted that routes passing through Bihar have been prioritised due to consistently high passenger demand and congestion on existing trains. The new services are expected to reduce pressure on popular routes connecting Bihar with Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and other major destinations. Improved frequency and faster turnaround times are also likely to ease seasonal rush during festivals and exam periods.

Railway planners said that the introduction of these trains will also benefit smaller towns and junctions in Bihar by improving accessibility and economic mobility. Local traders, students and migrant workers are expected to gain from more reliable and comfortable rail options.

Passengers welcomed the announcement, saying that Bihar often faces overcrowding on long-distance trains and that additional modern services are long overdue. Many urged the railways to

ensure punctuality and adequate maintenance to match upgraded facilities.

Detailed schedules, halts and ticketing information for the Amrit Bharat Express services passing through Bihar are expected to be announced shortly.
