Passengers at Patna’s Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport faced significant inconvenience on Saturday after multiple IndiGo flights were cancelled without prior notice. The sudden cancellations led to confusion, long queues at airline counters and frustration among travellers, many of whom were stranded for hours. Several passengers reported missing important personal and professional commitments due to the disruptions.

According to airport officials, the cancellations were linked to operational constraints affecting the airline nationwide. Flights scheduled to major destinations including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru were among those impacted. With limited alternative options available at short notice, many travellers were forced to reschedule their journeys or seek refunds.

Airport authorities confirmed that crowd management measures were implemented to maintain order inside the terminal. Additional help desks were set up to assist passengers, while security personnel were deployed to prevent overcrowding. Despite these arrangements, passengers complained about lack of timely communication and clarity regarding rebooking procedures.

Travel agents in Patna noted a surge in last-minute enquiries for train tickets as stranded passengers explored alternative

travel modes. The incident once again highlighted the vulnerability of air travel to operational disruptions and the need for better coordination and communication during emergencies.

Airport officials advised passengers to check flight status before arriving at the airport and remain in contact with airlines for updates.
