Patna University’s Saidpur campus development is in full swing as the Bihar government invests Rs 750 Crore in the project.
The state has decided to model Patna University on the framework of its Delhi counterpart. The decision was taken at a meeting of the internal quality assurance department under the chairmanship of Vice Chancellor Girish Kumar Choudhary.
The Saidpur Campus has long struggled with illegal occupants in its hostel buildings. Now, the plan is to establish and give them modern infrastructure. “While on one hand, the boundary wall of the Saidpur campus is being built, on the other, we have allotted land to different departments and colleges," said N.K. Jha, dean, students' welfare, Patna University.
This visionary plan will transform the place into a new South Campus in Saidpur, approximately 4km from the main academic hub.
This 35-acre land is in plans with the government to be transformed into a fully residential complex. A comprehensive proposal with an architectural model has been submitted to Bihar’s education department.
