Residents of the La Residentia Society in Greater Noida West have been losing sleep these days because of owls. As soon as people step out at night, the owls swoop down at their heads and attack them with their beaks and sharp claws.

Over the past three to four days, six to seven people have reportedly been attacked. It is said that one person suffered such deep wounds that he had to receive rabies and other injections.

The entire incident was also captured on the society’s CCTV cameras, which helped reveal what had happened. Following the incidents, an atmosphere of fear has spread throughout the society.

As evening falls, children, elderly people, and women are hesitant to step outside their homes. Residents have stopped taking nighttime walks and sitting in the parks.

Over the last three to four days, a group of owls has reportedly attacked several people. In the darkness of the night, residents initially could not understand what was happening. As word of the incidents spread, people began avoiding going outside after dark out of fear.

Various rumours also started circulating within the society premises. To investigate the matter, residents checked the CCTV footage installed around the society. Four to five owls were captured on camera. Residents claim that the owls were responsible for the attacks on people.

Society resident Sumil Jalota said that the Forest Department had been informed about the matter. Residents have also lodged complaints through WhatsApp groups and phone calls, but the team has not arrived yet. According to him,

five to six people have been attacked within the society premises.

Residents are demanding that the Forest Department team visit the society and safely relocate the owls to a suitable forested area without harming them. They believe this would help ensure both the protection of the birds and the safety of the residents.
