Officials said that the focus has now shifted from heavy civil construction to detailed fit-outs, signalling that the project is entering its final phases ahead of planned trial runs and commissioning.
The PEB structures — steel frameworks designed for station buildings, concourses and elevated platforms — are being assembled and aligned at key locations along the Line-1 route, which will eventually link Patna Junction with Sagauli Chowk. Authorities overseeing the metro project confirmed that these installations not only provide structural support but also integrate with architectural and roofing elements that will define the look and functionality of the stations.
In addition to PEB work, finishing activities such as flooring, tiling, electrical and mechanical fit-outs, platform screen door preparations, escalator and lift installations, and utility linkages are advancing in tandem. Metro officials said that teams are coordinating closely to ensure that systems such as signalling, communications, passenger information displays and safety equipment are integrated smoothly ahead of comprehensive system testing.
