Political strategist Prashant Kishor today met with the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Patna, to discuss the ongoing investigation into the death of a NEET aspirant, a case that has drawn significant public attention and sparked protests in the city. The student’s family has alleged police pressure and mishandling of the probe, raising concerns over procedural fairness and transparency.

The meeting took place at the SSP’s office, where Kishor emphasised the need for a thorough, impartial investigation into the circumstances surrounding the aspirant’s death. Family members and their representatives were present during portions of the discussion, voicing their concerns about how the case has been handled so far. They reiterated complaints that the investigation has not sufficiently addressed their questions and allegations, including claims of undue influence or rushed conclusions.

The SSP responded by reaffirming the police department’s commitment to conducting a comprehensive inquiry. Officials said that forensic reports, witness statements and all relevant evidence are being examined methodically. The senior officer assured that the investigation is being carried out according to law, and that any lapses would be reviewed.

During the meeting, Kishor urged that family grievances be acknowledged and communicated clearly to the public to help restore confidence in the investigative process. He also highlighted the importance of sensitivity in dealing with bereaved families and stressed that transparent communication can help prevent misinformation and escalation of tensions.
