Patna is set to witness the construction of a major new retail and cultural centre with the approval of the Prime Minister Ekta Mall (also called Unity Mall) near Atal Path and Boring Road, close to the Pani Tanki area. The project, part of a national initiative to promote indigenous products, aims to provide a dedicated space where traditional, handicraft and district-specific goods from across India can be showcased and marketed under one roof.
The mall is being developed under the broader One District One Product scheme, designed to support local artisans, craftsmen and small-scale producers by offering them a permanent platform that attracts both residents and visitors. State and city officials have conducted site inspections to assess infrastructure, traffic management, safety features and environmental compliance before construction begins. Preparations are underway to remove existing obstructions so work can progress smoothly.
