A passenger affected by recent flight cancellations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has publicly appreciated the UAE authorities and airline staff for their swift and organised handling of the disruption, highlighting customer support, accommodation arrangements and proactive communication.
The cancellations, which occurred due to a combination of adverse weather conditions and technical issues, left thousands of travellers facing delays earlier this week. Airports in Dubai and Abu Dhabi saw long queues and uncertainty as many flights were grounded or rescheduled. However, passengers noted that airport officials and airline representatives worked through the night to assist travellers, provide hotel accommodations, distribute food and water, and offer rebooking options on alternative flights.
In a widely shared video and social media post, a stranded passenger expressed gratitude for the efficiency and professionalism with which airline staff managed the situation, saying the support helped reduce anxiety and discomfort during the prolonged wait. The UAE’s General Civil Aviation Authority also issued frequent updates on flight status, advising travellers to check
schedules before heading to airports.
Airport sources emphasised that contingency plans were activated promptly, and teams continued to coordinate with meteorological and technical divisions to clear backlogs and restore normal operations. While some disruptions remain, authorities are working to accelerate processing and minimise inconvenience for travellers.
