In a major law-enforcement success today, the Bihar Special Task Force (STF), working with police from Vaishali and Madhubani districts, arrested three members of an inter-district truck theft gang. The suspects, identified as Bhushan Kumar Yadav, Deepak Kumar and Bikau Mahto, were apprehended following a targeted raid based on actionable intelligence.
Officials said the gang had been stealing trucks and dismantling them for parts, with stolen vehicle components hidden or sold through informal networks. During the operation in the Dumaria Ghat area, police seized various tools used for theft and dismantling, including a gas cutter, welding machine and mobile phones. Evidence collected at the site has strengthened the case, and a formal registered FIR outlines multiple charges related to vehicle theft and possession of stolen goods.
Authorities emphasised that the tip-off came after vigilant monitoring of truck-theft trends in border areas between districts. Police have indicated further questioning may lead to the identification of accomplices or connections to similar theft rings in the region.
The arrest reinforces the state’s effort to tackle vehicle theft and organised crime, offering relief to transport operators and reinforcing public confidence in law enforcement’s capacity to act on complex criminal networks.
